David Heron is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the fire protection industry, having held leadership roles across the U.S. and Australia.
Currently consulting for FST Innovation Pty. Ltd since April 2021, David advises regarding initiatives in fire safety design, engineering, and innovation, and their commercial viability. He works closely with regulatory bodies, manufacturers, and distributors to improve and develop these life saving products.
Additionally, to David’s role with FST Innovation Pty. Ltd., he provides forensic and advisory services for a fire protection manufacturer in product liabiltiy matters.
Previously, David was the Director of Customer Relations and Marketing at Globe Fire Sprinkler Corporation from 2018 to 2019. In this role, he optimized marketing efforts, significantly reduced expenses, and boosted sales by over $1 million through a strategic focus on product advancements. Additionally, David served as International Sales Director at Globe, managing $15 million in accounts and driving substantial growth in global markets.
In the Asia Pacific region, David served as the Executive Director for Globe Fire Sprin-kler from 2016 to 2019, successfully transitioning the subsidiary company to a national distribution partner and eliminating $500,000 in costs while retaining market share and sales. Earlier, as the Director of Operations at Globe Fire Sprinkler Australia Pty Ltd, David drove 400% business growth and expanded market share to 50%.
David also managed Pacific Fire Technology Pty. Ltd. in Australia, collaborating with John H. Paterson, a mentor with 70 years of experience, and Eoin G. Shearer, OAM, previous manager of the Insurance Council of Australia and Technical Manager at Fire Protection Association of Australia. Together, they tested over 5,000 fire sprinklers to international standards to evaluate their suitability for continued service.
David’s career began as a machinist at an engineering firm supplying components to the motorsport industry. This is where he developed a strong technical foundation before transitioning into the fire protection industry. He later managed the distribution of fire sprinkler products at Lansdale Fire Services Pty. Ltd. for over 10 years, setting the foundation for his long-standing expertise in the sector.
David resides between Michigan, USA, and Melbourne, Australia. He has been evaluated by the Brooklyn College, New York, New York, as having attained the equivalent of a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in recognition of his expertise in management, customer service, relationship management, and general operations management.
